Tackling logo designWith polls showing that, as a participation sport, angling is more popular in the UK than football, and with 42% more coarse fishing licences being issued last year than in 1999, it is a great time to promote your company in the marketplace. How you do this will depend on what exactly your company has to offer and in which area it specialises, if any. Whilst fishing conjures up images of relaxing in beautiful countryside for some, others take a more active approach, battling against large marine fish at sea, or perfecting their fly fishing technique whilst fishing for trout or salmon. Still others enjoy the thrill of match fishing; pitting themselves against fellow anglers to show off their skills. So your personal choice of image, including logo design and how you will advertise, will be dictated to a certain extent by which type of angler you are trying to appeal to. As with any business, honesty and directness go a long way, especially with a crowd that will be able to spot a fisherman’s tall tale a mile off! If your company is concerned with supplying equipment for catching one species of fish in particular, such as boilies for carp fishing for example, then you will probably want to feature a picture of this species in your logo somewhere. Other companies may specialise in a type of fishing, such as fly fishing, and wish to depict this in their company emblem. More general suppliers will have a wider choice. |
